Currently the most talked about app on the App Store, Flappy Bird is an simple but addictive 8-bit arcade game developed by .GEARS (dotGears) Studios, a small, independent game development company based in Vietnam.
Below is a 6 step walk-through on how to edit the length of the pipes within the game, allowing you to easily increase your high-score in arguably one of the hardest games in the App Store.
After installing iFile on your iDevice and toggling on Application Names in the settings (above) open iFile and navigate to /var/mobile/Applications and tap the Flappy Bird folder.
Then, go to the Flap.app folder and open the atlas.txt file (Text Viewer).
Next, select ‘Edit’ and scroll until this text is visible:
pipe_down 52 270 0.58984375 0.0 0.05078125 0.5273437
While still in ‘edit mode’, change the number 270 to a 4 within the pipe_down string of numbers. Then select ‘Save’ then ‘Done’
pipe_down 52 4 0.58984375 0.0 0.05078125 0.5273437
After editing with iFile, activate the App Switcher and swipe up on the Flappy Bird application card to ‘close’ the application.
Finally, open the Flappy Bird application and flap your wings to your best score yet.
